In the Mercedes G4, the leading figures of the Reich drove around to show the world their technological superiority.
The design of the limousine was created in 1934 as a vehicle for the supreme commander with good off-road capability.
Technically, it wasn't a perfect car, and the manufacturer himself doesn't consider it a successful work of the company.
use in the field, on mud, or snow was very problematic due to the high weight.
With a 3-axle construction, the vehicle's turning radius was 17 meters.
Was there an integrated gun holster in the leather door upholstery.
In 1939, the Führer's vehicle got stuck in the mud, where he waited for several hours to be rescued, and so it was subsequently used exclusively for parade rides on quality roads.
The car had a strong red light at the back, which was meant to deter other drivers from overtaking the limousine.
In several versions, about 57 pieces were created.
About 6 vehicles were equipped with a pair of MG 34 machine guns.
Of all the vehicles produced, only 3 have survived, and they are located in Germany, one in Spain, and the last one is held by Hollywood for filming war movies.
